Today, I feel like it is time to write a pregnancy related post.  To be honest, I’m a little surprised that I haven’t done this yet, being nearly 22 weeks along in my second pregnancy.  I had a GREAT visit with a good friend today and it reminded me of the importance of self-care, especially during pregnancy.  When I worked in the human service field, I was a STICKLER for self-care.  I had a hand-out and a whole presentation that I liked to give employees every so often because burn-out is a huge issue in the helping professions.

I’ve got the divine on my mind today, which is only natural seeing as how the Christian world just experienced another Easter season.  I, although a member of a predominantly Christian society, am not one and I am part of what can only be described as an inter-faith family.  I have identified, since adolescence, as Wiccan, but lately have softened that a bit to the broader Pagan as I don’t observe much of the ritual that comes along with Wiccan practice.

I recently read a quick article on how to support your partner (primarily the father) while you are pregnant.  At first, I thought, “WTF?!? I’m pretty sure that I need the support here.”  Then I took a breath, reminded myself that I am not that self-absorbed, and read the article.  All-in-all I thought the article was written rather poorly and had tips such as buying your partner a book to prepare him to support you in the birthing process.
