Kids are truly amazing.  Just when you think you have them figured out (more or less anyway) they go and do something that throws your wisdom out the window!  I especially appreciate the gift of imagination and creativity children exhibit.  My first two posts on this site dealt with these issues.

  One of the places where it seems more and more children (and even some adults) are lacking in applying their creativity is reading.  Reading, as a whole, is becoming far more rare among children than it once was.  The advent of things like Kindle, Nook and the like is helping to bridge the gap a bit.

My three year old has quite an active imagination.  Several family members have pointed out that she inherited this, at least in some part, from me.  As a child, I was always imagining this or that.  One day I was the Lone Ranger riding the open, dusty trails of the wild West.  The next I was a private in a platoon deep in the jungles of Vietnam.
